It’s January, how are your resolutions coming along? Didn’t make any? Well, how about your training? I’ll tell you about mine. It’s slow this year.
The fact that walking more than two miles hurts my left hip isn’t helping, but that’s no excuse, I realize. I feel not only guilty but slow and much weaker for it.
If you’re having a little bit of a slow start getting back into your usual amazing routine, it’s OK. Sometimes it takes a little more time and a little more patience. You’ll get it right, we’ll both get it right.
I made my first, yes, FIRST (!!!) visit to the gym this week and I’m going back in a couple of days. I felt embarrassed, which was silly, I realize. But I was such a regular gym-goer, it was weird to go back after such a long absence. There’s zero judgement by anyone there, they don’t care. The employees at my gym are all so nice and are just happy to see me and everyone there are too busy doing their own thing to care what I’m doing. So why am I so self-conscience?
It’s said that the first step is the hardest. So, take that first step once more and start moving, it will get easier and you’ll soon get back into the groove and forget why you got out of your groove in the first place!
