Today is the day before my first race of 2024. The last three and a half years didn’t go the way I could ever wish them to go. You know how that overly optimistic person on Facebook posts that silly meme “Today is the day you wanted to be five years ago”?
Yeah, not so much.
I could never in my worst nightmares wish my life would take this path. But here I am, and things are better. My race tomorrow is a 6-hour timed race. I have no distance goals, but I do have a goal of staying on the course for the whole six hours. I’ve been known to be done a couple hours before hand. But not tomorrow. I want to stay out there the full six hours. Will I? That remains to be seen. I will try my hardest.
For now, I am so excited about this race; it means everything to me. I’m so happy to be back!
